About Marianne

A licensed Realtor since 1979, Marianne has been among the top 10 Real Estate agents in Squamish since 1990.

In 2021, Marianne gained recognition for her 34th consecutive year as a Medallion Club Member, making her a Lifetime Member for over 9 years. She is also the recipient of Royal LePage’s prestigious Award of Excellence Lifetime Member and Diamond Award.

In 1962 her family (Mortensen) moved to Squamish from Vancouver (parents via Denmark). Marianne grew up enjoying all the outdoor activities that the Sea to Sky Corridor had to offer (skiing, swimming, biking and hiking). Upon graduation from Howe Sound Secondary School, Marianne went on to the University of British Columbia where she received her B.Sc. in Psychology. In 1979 she continued her education and received her Real Estate License. Marianne tackled markets around the Lower Mainland including Vancouver, Mission, Steveston, Squamish and eventually ending up in Whistler.  The market crash of 1980/81 motivated Marianne to find an alternate career and ended up working for Emergency Health Services as an EMA1 ambulance attendant.

In 1984 Marianne and her husband Van moved from Whistler back to Squamish. The affordable, safe and healthy community was where they wanted to raise their 3 children. Their children enjoyed excellent schooling and all became avid sports enthusiasts, mountain bikers, soccer players, snowboarders & travellers.

Realizing that Real Estate was what Marianne loved to do, she was back in business in 1987 joining Black Tusk Realty, now Royal LePage Black Tusk Realty.

Having experienced real estate through many different markets Marianne is regarded as is an expert in the industry.  She knows the Sea to Sky marketplace and is proud to call it home. As she often says “Squamish sells itself, I just have to introduce you to it ”.

Marianne believes the health of a community requires input and involvement from its residents and plays an active role in her community:
